1999: Mum’s feeling a bit worse for wear this morning, so she lay on the settee and I let rip in the lounge. She let me have my last Easter egg for breakfast – well it is Saturday, and mine lasted longer than hers did! I got dressed and went to play in the garden and oops! – made a mess of my pants. I ended up in the bath, which I didn’t consider very fair as I’d only just got dressed, and needed an afternoon nap. We had a joint dinner and lunch at 3.00 and then walked to town to buy some milk and ‘duice’. I also got a packet of wine gums (named after me apparently) and we sat on the wall watching the boys on their skateboards. I walked nearly all the way back but had to have a piggy back some of the way (which I thought was great fun but mum didn’t seem so keen). I played in the garden and I got extremely muddy as mum was washing all my garden toys and I was helping. Our nicely mown grass is now a mudslide. Yippee! Watched Lion King again tonight – the things I have to do to keep mum amused
2019: Mum came round for dinner tonight but I forgot that the sausages weren’t gluten free so I cooked the chops she had to pop to the shops to buy. Made the mistake of telling her my Crohn’s is really playing up (like she didn’t know anyway) and so ensued the “make sure you go to your appointment”/ “I will if I’m not working”/”Well you wont be working if your back in hospital” conversation! My bad ………. Still. I ended it b putting Ant-Man on. Still having to entertain her.

1999: – Easter Sunday – More eggs! Mum wanted to lie in (again), so she put my potty out, the telly on, made everywhere safe and left me to get on with it – which I did with a vengeance. I totally trashed the place; it was great fun, especially with no one around to keep saying that horrible ‘no’ word. When mum eventually got up we went into the garden, I played and Mum was weeding and now the beds look really bare – just mud everywhere. Later I watched mum trying to dig up an old azalea in the front garden, which was quite funny. She put the spade under the plant and was sitting on the handle. It took forever to budge, but eventually she won (she always does). We had a bath and put shorts and T-shirt on as it had gotten really hot. We went round to see Nan and Pa and by the time we got there the sun had gone in and mum had to go back home and get some warmer clothes
2019: Wish it had cooled today as I back to work in the heat. I like being outside but looking forward to starting at Aviva as office work wont take such a toll on my body. Had a slightly dodgy sausage tonight which bought on D&V and a Crohn’s flare. Bloomin ulcers. Not good

1999: – Good Friday, but mum didn’t seem to think so at 6.45! I don’t know why, she got 15 minutes longer than usual and we had hit cross buns for breakfast. There’s no pleasing some people! We walked over to the town to get some shopping and I walked all the way back. I made friends with a dog, who in return wrapped his lead around me and pulled me over. It was a lovely day and I played in the garden and then Uncle Teddy took me to the park where I found not just the wettest, but the muddiest spot and Uncle Teddy had to rescue me. I was very tired when I got back home and sat drinking my tea unable to move for about 10 minutes. Mum thought it was great, but I wasn’t so sure.
2019: A week or so until Easter this year. Last day in Budapest and sunshine as tonight we flew back to reality and the cold. Bit of a rough landing but it was Ryan Air – last time we flew with them was to Ireland many years ago. They threw it on the runway that time, just 10 minutes after serving mum a second hot chocolate. She wasn’t too happy with her chocolate patterned, white t shirt then but it makes us laugh now.

1999: Accidentally headbutted mum when I woke up this morning – she wasn’t impressed. She turned her back on me for about 5 minutes – sulking. Then I put my arm around her and I was forgiven. Shorts and t-shirt today for the first time this year and my sandals too. Edon took us to the park and Dan bought me some buttons, which I promptly dropped all over the floor! When mum picked me up I spied the Easer Eggs Edon gave her and polished one off on the way home. It’s great having a chocoholic mum – she has empathy! When we got home we made hot cross buns – a bit messy but great fun. I went in my swing and fell asleep there whilst drinking my cuppa. Mum kept trying to get me out but, each time she did, I went into one and just asked for another swing. Why can’t she just leave me here anyway? I wasn’t sleeping – I was just resting my eyes.
2019: Amazing river cruise and meal last night and today was spent on the bus touring the city – mostly because we had already paid for the tickets and are down to our last bits of shrapnel. On getting back to the hotel this evening, we discovered that there is a spa, swimming pool and solarium on the roof of our hotel – all included in the price. Think we’ll spend the night here. Hopefully its not an April Fools and we wont get a big bill tomorrow

1999: I waved to all the cars, buses and lorries on the way, to Edons today and not one of them waved back, I didn’t think that was a very good start to the day. It was quiet today, as it’s half term, so no Jake or Josh, but Lea and Dan were there. I didn’t want mum to go this morning and this evening I came running out to meet her. There was an Easter egg in the back of the car, which I spied straight away, and ended up eating it all but still ate my tea (which I feel was a good move on my part) Played in the garden, watched some of Simbas Pride with mum after my bath, and was in bed and asleep by 8.00. Not a very eventful day, but the chocolate was good!
2019: I clearly used to love chocolate. Still like my sweets but chocolate is one of my worst “go through me” intakes. But then most foods do and I’m either eating for England or not at all. Got caught short in Tesco the other day and had to run (luckily pre ankle injury!). I followed the toilet signs only to come across a large rail of clothing blocking my path. I had to run all the way round another two aisles and came to the disabled loo first with a big sign “Not all disabilities are visible”. Phew! I went in, pulled everything down and sat on the throne just in time to do a big “Crohn’s let rip”. Relief. Bugger. There was no bloody toilet roll. So ensued 10 minutes of trying to get Zofs attention by text (who is usually glued to her phone) and eventually she responded, found me loo roll and deposited it to me in the disabled loo. No need to text to get her attention today as we are glued together, at Stansted and on our way to Budapest. Lets Party!

1999: Off on our hols today. As we were getting ready to go I had to sit on the suitcase so that mummy could get it done up. Mummy has 4 pairs of trousers, 4 tops and 2 jumpers, but we seem to have a huge suitcase, a huge rucksack and a huge carrier bag plus a bag full of toys, as well as mum’s handbag and my very own backpack. Uncle Terry drove us and during the journey I practiced saying T-E-R-R-Y, formerly known as Ar, now known as Eddy! We arrived early at The Grand in Margate so we stashed the luggage (which took over the whole reception area) and went to the games room and I had a ride in Pats Van (Mum has a feeling we could spend the whole week here – well look on the bright side at least you’ll know all the words to Postman Pat Mum). Eventually Mummy tempted me away with a chocolate biscuit, but when I saw |her banana cake I changed my mind. I ate all the icing and kindly left Mummy the mangled cake bit. We collected our room keys and went on the mammoth trek to our room. We circum navigated through corridors, stairs and lifts with me in the buggy and mummy carrying the bags. By the time we got to the room mummy was praying that Jeremy Beadle would jump out and say it was all a wind up. But he didn’t and it wasn’t. We navigated the globe back to reception and asked if someone was available to help with the rest of the bags, there was a porter, so we left the rest of the bags and headed back to our room. We decided to go back via the road as there were far less lifts and stairs, only to find that we couldn’t get in the hotel that end as the door was locked and we had to walk all the way back again. The long corridors, in my buggy, without the luggage are actually great. Mummy and I raced up them, along the back straight, through the chicane and down the ravine. Mum’s looking a bit red though Tonight we got dressed up and I escorted my mum to dinner. I was such a gent I even held the doors open for her. The dining room however was a slightly different matter as there was so much to explore and spoilsport mummy ended up getting a high chair for me. After dinner we went to the cabaret room and mummy and I waltzed around the floor.
2020: I think may have been unfairly blamed for the packing. I will go away for a week with hand luggage where mum seems to need this plus a big case! Then again I don’t have lots of nappies now and several clothes for “training”. Can just imagine mum doing all that running and pushing me around in the buggy but it would probably be the other way round now. Meanwhile I’ll just stick to my van and car. Still love dressing up, going to dinner and dancing when I get the chance. This week though I am literally working, cooking tea (with garlic) and falling into bed to eat and sleep and get ready to start again
1999: Slept the whole night in my own bed, I must be slacking, will have to do better than that tonight. Before we left for Edon’s today, I spied a big tube of Smarties, which someone had apparently dropped round for me last night. What a treat, I’m not usually allowed, but I’ve seen them now mum – you should have hidden them sooner (I mean you had all night). Meanie head said that I couldn’t have them for breakfast, so I decided to take them with me. I put them on the dashboard and guzzled my drink. Mum tried all sorts of distractions, but I know her game, she was hoping I would forget they were there. Is she stupid? I mean she’d remember her sweeties so what makes her think I wouldn’t remember mine? I humoured her, responded to her distractive ramblings and once at Edon’s got out of the car, Smarties tightly clenched in hand.
2019: Well mums away in Tenerife and I’ve been working hard all day and grabbing what I can to snack on. To be fair, I love my sweets still, but know chocolate really effects my Chron’s so I tend to avoid this. Along with spicy food and nuts – so what did mum put in my Christmas sack – Wasabi bloomin nuts!
