1999: Back to the usual grind today. Awoke in mum’s bed at 7, had milk and a cuddle and then it was all systems go go go. Jumped in mum’s bath as she got out. Went to Edon’s, where potty training didn’t go too well according to the adults. Who wants to waste time sitting on a silly plastic thing when you can just pee on the go? When mum and I got home tonight, Nanny and Pa were there and Pa was putting a lovely new fence up. I helped of course, fetching screws and things. I also played in his van and climbed up his ladders. This was slightly more difficult second time around as I had had to put my own wellie boots on and they were on the wrong feet! I got very grubby and ended up having another bath, which I didn’t mind as I got to show Nan how I can get in and out all on my very own now.
2019: How I used to love Pa’s van and climb his ladders. Off labouring today and up work ladders – boots on right feet but tricky when hodding. Home via mums to pick up some bits for our moving in party tonight and then home to tidy up under strict instructions of the missus who is working until 8pm.

1999: Was full of fun this morning- groomed spot the dog, wore mums slippers and basically just did silly things. When we went out to the car we saw there was a man in a yellow box going up in the air. Mum said he was mending the lights. I WANT A GO. Life’s just so unfair. On the way to Edons I saw a man on his motorbike, I waved and he waved back! I’m so well known around town. Edon took me to the park but it was so muddy we all started sinking and I actually fell down a hole and ended up sinking to my hips! Edon took us to the Village hall park instead whereupon, I decided to fall off the steps to the slide, but I was okay. When mum collected me, I had no trousers on and none to put on, as they were all muddy. I wanted to go to Nanny’s but she was out. We went to Uncle Teddy’s instead, where we bumped in to Nan! We stayed for a drink and then headed to Nan’s for tea. I didn’t want any though. When I went to get into the car, I realised Nan had disappeared. I wasn’t having that. I strode back to the front door. ‘Nan’. ‘Nan’. ‘Nan’. She re-appeared with a current bun. Yum.
2019: Worked up an appetite today. Went over to mums to collect table and chairs, tv and ex box (must have been tired to go without them yesterday!) Mum and Mark came back with us and we cooked a very late brunch for us in our own home. Love this grown up stuff – might change my mind once the bills role in though!
1999: Couldn’t be bothered to get up this morning I lay in bed calling ‘Mum, Mum’ but she did not answer. Then I called ‘Nan’ and I heard movement and a figure entered my room saying ‘no, you were right the first time!’ I was sooo pleased to see her and we had big hugs and cuddles. We went downstairs for milk and juice and made ‘bix’ for ‘fast’ and sat eating and drinking at the table. At 10.30 Granddad came to fetch me to see daddy. I had a lovely day, my cousins came round in the morning and we all played. I had so much fun that I didn’t sleep all day and fell asleep on the way home. Tonight Nan and Pa came round with peaches and jelly and cake. I kept putting the candles on and blowing them out – mum didn’t seem to blow out any – perhaps you don’t like that sort of thing when you get older.
2019: Went out to meet a friend who is back on site over this way as caravan sales manager. Was great to catch up and have breakfast and he has also told me of a sales job going on a nearby site. Went to Zof’s tonight to update my CV and do covering letter which I have now sent over to him. That has given me a bit of hope again, as the agency I keep ringing about factory work just isn’t getting anywhere in a hurry. At least we’re not actually in the flat yet and my current landlord is Mum!

1999: Up at 6.30 – come on mum – it’s the weekend – let’s party. She doesn’t seem too enthusiastic. I guess she is getting on a bit now – 34 today. She sang happy birthday to herself, but I wanted it to be to ‘me’. We had a cup of tea, got dressed and then went to Nanny and Pa’s. Mum had lots of pressies and I wanted to open them all. I had bought her a lovely green purse and she had Lion cake (which I blew the candles out on several times). Mummy went home to get ready and then she went off to London for the day and I stayed with Nanny and Pa. I went to the shops with Pa and we bought some yummy cakes. We made peaches and jelly for mum’s tea tomorrow (well it is mine and Pa’s favourite!) Pa bought me a Thomas the Tank Engine magazine and I had a generally spoilt and pampered day. Well I do have to work hard living with my mum, so it’s nice to have a break every now and again. Nanny and Pa took me home and although mummy’s, Bim’s and Eesa’s cars were there, there was no sign of anyone. I went to bed and I presume Nanny and Pa stayed with me.
2019: Mum always takes her birthday off from work and I met her for a Pizza Hut buffet at lunch time which is one advantage of being unemployed. This afternoon we got the fire going and watched the films I wanted to watch on Sky Cinema (20 years may have passed but I still seem to have a handle on things!) Zof came over tonight and we gave mum her all her pressies – lots of organic stuff (as she’s gone organic mad) and a companion set for fire place. Indian take away for tea which was lush. Oh. And I had to trouble mum to fill out a form for guarantor for flat ……

1999: Got in with mum at 5.10 but didn’t settle very well as her bed is full of springs, and very uncomfortable – the things she does to try and put me off! Mum usually sleeps on top of two quilts, but they’re a bit wet right now for some reason. I eventually settled down and slept until 7.30. Mum had a shower whilst I played with a race track the neighbours had given us, but the cars don’t work too well and I tried to get mums attention but she was too busy putting her make up on. I decided to wipe my snotty nose on her bath towel and attention was got. Tonight we had to go to the laundrette to wash and dry the quilts and whilst they were doing we went to Asda shopping . Mum bought me my first Postman Pat video and for tea I had grapes, biscuits, dolly mixtures and crisps in the supermarket trolley and mum paid for lots of empty bags at the check out.
2019: Beds! I seem to get through them yearly. Have lovely comfy one now which will hopefully be moving with us soon to rented accommodation. Have opened joint bank account with Zof, mum has finally got back half of my air fares from my cancelled tours which will go into it and we have arranged a viewing on a cottage for next Saturday. Exciting times

1999: Back to the old routine today of listening to mummy repeatedly hitting the snooze button. I was in a good mood again this morning and even chose my own clothes. That is until I realised mummy had fed the fish. I wanted to do it. I stormed off and got my little footstall to “look” and eventually the fish got a second helping when mum wasn’t looking. Afterwards I was fine again but we had to go, go, go. I was even cool when we arrived at Edon’s and went in to play with the others; I gave mummy a kiss goodbye and carried on playing. Mummy looked quite relieved and I think she went to work with a clear conscience. There was a bag of Jelly Babies waiting for me in my car seat. Yum. Yum. I like first days back to work.
2109: Last day of work for the week and Zof is home with us again tonight. Getting excited looking for properties to rent but need a few months to save. Cooked spiced beef and pasta tonight and we all sat in the lounge watching Ready Player One
